How can I get to the hostel from the airport or from the train station?

If you are coming from / going to the airport or any train station we can arrange a safe and inexpensive transfer there and back (but you need to book it in advance, and share with others). You can also book an exclusive airport transfer, at a time of your choice for a different price. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you need more information.

Is the breakfast included in the price?

It is not included in the price, but we can arrange it on request. It costs 800 HUF/person.It contains: rolls, butter, jam,three kind of cold cuts,vegetables and coffee or tea.

What kind of discount can I get with the Budapest Card?

Explore the entire city with its museums, caves, cultural programmes, restaurants, shop and its public transportation system! All this for just 5,200 HUF- for 2 days and 6,500 HUF for 3 days! (more information at the reception)

Is bed linen included in the price?

Yes, it is included in the price. Towels can be rented at the reception if needed.

What time can I check-in?

Throughout the day. Please note that the rooms generally are not available until 2 pm on the day of your arrival. You can leave your bags in our luggage room.

And what about the check-out?

Please check-out By 10 am. If you may wish to stay longer, please let us know the day before. After check-out you can store your bags in our luggage room.

Where can we buy a city map?

They are available at the reception free of charge!

Do you have a common room? What can we do there?

It's in the cellar. After a long day of sightseeing, feel free to let your hair down and compare notes with other travellers or just watch TV.

Is there a curfew?

Domino Hostel is open 24 hours

May I smoke in the building?

No, there are smoke detectors throughout the whole building! If you set off the alarm fire, the local fire department will treat it as a serious call-out, and you may be charged a set amount by the fire department for causing the false alarm.

Should I bring a hairdryer with me?

No need to! You can rent one at the reception. (Same for the iron and ironing board)

Is there internet access?

Yes, next to the reception and in the common room (so it's available 24 hours a day). It's a coin-operated system.

My train arrives at night. Can I check-in very late?

It is possible for late arrivals to check in during the night. But if you're going to arrive later than 11 pm, please inform us by email at reservation@dominohostel.com with your approximated time of arrival.

Where can we wash our clothes?

We have coin-laundry facilities on the 2nd floor.

Do you have lockers?

We do have lockers! Every bed has an individual locker.

Is it better if we make a reservation?

If you want to be sure that you can stay with us, we suggest you book your accommodation in advance. You can do it online or send us your request via e-mail: reservation@dominohostel.com

Can you offer me excursions and sightseeing tours?

Yes, the reception staff can help you to choose and book the programs, or you can reserve it in advance via e-mail.

Is it safe to travel by taxi?

If you need a taxi, always ask the receptionist to call a reputable one for you, Never catch it on the street.

Is it really downtown? What attractions are nearby?

Yes! Hostel Domino is near the Danube and most sights of Budapest, as well as many shops and restaurants. Within walking distance you will find the famous Market Hall, Freedom Bridge and the National Museum, but many other sights of the city are only a very short journey away by public transportation.

My guidebook says Váci utca is expensive. Can I afford to stay at your hostel?

Sure, our hostel has very low prices, even though it's on Váci street. Don't take our word for it - check our rates now, for the date you want!

Is it safe to walk in the area?

Yes, this is the best area in the city. You should pay attention to just one thing though! Try to avoid the strip clubs and night clubs on Váci Street. Most of them just try to make loads of money from tourists, and even rip them off or highly over-invoice them! We can't help you, if they try to force you to pay. So PLEASE be careful. Do leggy blondes routinely throw themselves at you, and suggest their favourite bar? Well then!
